Job Summary/Objective:
Under the general direction of Project Managers, the Design Engineer Level 2 serves as a member of a cross- functional project team. As a member of a cross-functional project team, the role has responsibility to independently execute all design tasks and initiatives.
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility for this role is to ensure proper development and completion of electrical designs and schematics that conform to safety and quality standards, as well as meeting all design cost and schedule objectives. This position will be required to support multiple projects of varying complexity. Additional responsibilities include training Level 1 Design Engineers and advising PMs/others on technical design requirements.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree or two-year technical degree/certificate in an electrical-related program, or have at least 4 years of equivalent experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Design Engineer Level 1 or equivalent
- Travel required
Essential Functions:
- Interpret detailed specifications for automation and control
- Research, understand, and specify/apply commercially available components for use in a total
- Control panel design:
- Using UL 508A, NFPA 79, NFPA 70E, and NEC design
- Determine Heat Loads, SCCRs, Voltage Separation, Panel Sizing &
- Circuit design to include breaker/transformer/motor load/wire/terminal
- Develop detailed system documentation for the construction and installation of control
- Develop complete electrical drawing
- Edit existing drawing sets with feedback from Project Managers and Controls
- On-site support for design reviews, consultancy, installation, start-up, and
- Ensure compliance to company standards and client
- Executes functional tests after control panels are completed to ensure
- Control panel verifications (FAT/SAT documentation).
- Provide training to Design Engineer 1 individuals
