Digitalization Technician

We are looking for a motivated professional to work in these market segments which would include any manufacturers who embrace software in a manufacturing setting.

Process and Data Automation is a full service, CSIA Certified industrial control systems integration firm. Our Controls Engineering group specializes in physical automation system design, programming, and commissioning. Our dedicated Digitalization Group connects automated equipment and systems to the business environment including protected recipe systems, data collection and reporting, and data historian implementation.

Responsibilities:

The Digitalization Technician will be responsible for the configuration, installation, and/or general implementation of proposed customer solutions. This will include the installation/configuration of physical computers, virtual machines, network devices, databases, third-party software applications, and general application programming.

Essential Functions:

  1. Collaboration with senior-level staff to review, recommend, develop, and implement customer solutions
  2. Network device installation/configuration & maintenance
  3. First-tier support for customer solutions (identify, research, resolve)
  4. Computer installation/configuration & maintenance
  5. Database installation/configuration & maintenance
  6. Application development/maintenance
  7. Generation and maintenance of system architecture design documentation
  8. Travel throughout North America for project startups, support, and training

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  1. Two-year technical degree or equivalent experience preferred
  2. Familiarity with general networking
  3. Familiarity with configurations and troubleshooting Microsoft operating systems
  4. Familiarity with relational database packages (Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL)
  5. Familiarity with virtualization (VMWare / Hyper-V)
  6. Basic understanding of object-oriented programming
  7. Strong attention to detail

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Travel required, domestic and international (10-30%)
  2. Must have valid driver’s license
  3. Must have or be eligible to obtain a passport
  4. Legally authorized to work in the United States
